The Skagit Sauk Reach Trail is a hidden gem near Rockport, WA on SR 20E. This scenic 4.8m trail winds its way along the banks of the mighty Skagit River, providing stunning views and a unique opportunity to connect with nature.

The first half of the trail is a delight for outdoor enthusiasts, with ample opportunities to spot wildlife and take in the picturesque surroundings. Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles soaring overhead or deer gracefully grazing in the nearby meadows. The trail's well-marked signage and occasional benches make it an ideal destination for hikers of all skill levels.

However, as you progress further along the trail, perhaps half way in, you'll encounter a section that has become overgrown and eroded due to the natural forces of the river. This portion of the hike may require  more caution and agility or may be a good turn around point. Always exercise your best judgement when out in nature.

Despite the challenges posed by the overgrown and eroded sections, the Skagit Sauk Reach Trail remains a breathtaking destination. The views of the Skagit River are simply stunning, with its jade colored waters.

Remember to pack plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear, and be prepared for the occasional muddy or slippery section. But most importantly, immerse yourself in the natural wonders that this trail has to offer, creating lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the great outdoors.
